Karneval-Marathon

The Carnival Marathon in Cologne-Pesch combines a passion for marathon running with enthusiasm for Cologne Carnival. The event takes place on November 11, 2026, and is a unique event marking the start of the fifth season. The course is measured by the German Athletics Association (DLV) and runs on a flat, paved loop around Pesch Lake, which is repeated multiple times. The number of participants is limited to 50, and costumes are explicitly encouraged to increase the fun factor.

Race bibs are issued from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the playground at Pesch Lake. Changing rooms, showers, and toilets are available at the nearby clubhouse of FC Pesch 1956 e.V. Timing is done manually by clipping the lap numbers on the race bib. After the run, participants receive Kölsch beer and a unique finisher carnival badge. The event is non-commercial, and proceeds are donated to Cologne carnival societies. The course is on a paved 2.7 km loop, with no lighting or medical station, limited to 50 race bibs, and no refunds in case of non-participation or force majeure. Participants must be at least U20.
