26. Generali Köln Marathon

The Generali Cologne Marathon is a unique running experience that combines elite and recreational sport with carnival, a street festival and a running festival. The course passes through lively Cologne neighbourhoods such as Rodenkirchen, Lindenthal, Ehrenfeld and Nippes, and finishes spectacularly at Cologne Cathedral. With up to 15,000 participants, the marathon offers an exhilarating atmosphere, supported by thousands of spectators along the course. The event also places great importance on sustainability and offers a varied programme of activities.

The marathon starts in Deutz at Ottoplatz and passes several relay and school-marathon changeover zones. There are 11 refreshment stations for the marathon and 6 for the half marathon. The marathon is limited to 15,000 participants. The course passes well-known Cologne landmarks and neighbourhoods, and the finish is at Cologne Cathedral.
