Race description
The Salzachbrückenlauf starts and ends at the town square of Burghausen, below the castle of Burghausen, the longest castle complex in the world. The course runs along the Salzach River, which forms the border between Germany and Austria, and includes several border crossings. Various distances are offered, including a 505-meter parent-child run, a 3.2 km fun run, a 5.5 km walk, and the main race of 8.8 km. Over 1,000 participants take part annually, from children and hobby runners to club runners and fast athletes. The race is a charity event organized by nine volunteers, with proceeds supporting local needy people.
