Burg-Lauf Eppstein

The Eppstein Castle Run is a traditional race classic in the Taunus region, taking place annually since 1986 and attracting up to 500 runners as well as numerous spectators. The varied course of 7.777 km runs through forest, the historic old town, and twice around the medieval castle before ascending the Schmerzberg to the finish at the sports field of TSG Eppstein. The event offers not only a sporting competition but also a social program with a cake stand, the Castle Run glass, and refreshments. The race is suitable for both ambitious runners and running enthusiasts who want to enjoy the special atmosphere and the challenge of the 'Old German Mile.'

Late registrations are possible on the day of the event from 5:00 PM until half an hour before the start at the sports field 'Am Bienroth'. Chip timing is used. Prizes and material awards are given to the fastest participants, as well as medals for school relay teams. Important notes regarding travel due to partial closure of B455 should be observed. The Eppstein train station is easily accessible via S2, about a 15-minute walk from the station to the start. The race takes place on varied, topographically adapted terrain.
