Burg-Lauf Eppstein

The Eppstein Castle Run is a traditional Taunus running classic, held annually since 1986 and attracting up to 500 runners as well as numerous spectators. The varied 7.777 km course passes through the forest and the historic old town, loops twice around the medieval castle, then climbs Schmerzberg to the finish at the TSG Eppstein sports ground. Alongside the sporting competition, the event offers a sociable program featuring a cake stand, a Castle Run glass and refreshments. The run is suitable both for ambitious runners and for running enthusiasts who want to enjoy the special atmosphere and challenge of the “old German mile.”

Late entries are possible on the day of the event from 17:00 until half an hour before the start at the “Am Bienroth” sports ground. Chip timing is used. Prizes and non-cash awards are available for the fastest participants, and medals are awarded to student relay teams. Please note the important travel information due to the partial closure of the B455. Eppstein railway station is easily reached on the S2; the start is about a 15-minute walk from the station. The run takes place on varied terrain adapted to the topography. Registration is available online and on the day of the event. Awards, medals and prizes are presented to the winners.
