Race description
The Altkönig Run, organized by MTV Kronberg, is a traditional popular race approved by the German Athletics Association (DLV), taking place on September 27, 2026. Participants can choose from a half marathon (21.1 km), 10 km runs, as well as school runs, a Bambini race, and walking/nordic walking events. The course leads through the scenic Taunus landscape with approximately 350 meters of elevation gain in the half marathon. The race is part of the Taunus Run Challenge and offers all finishers a medal, as well as trophies and cash prizes for the top runners. The start and finish are located at the MTV sports facility in Kronberg.

Additional information
Every finisher receives a medal. The walking and Nordic walking competitions over 10 km start at 9:40 AM without scoring. School runs begin at 12:00 PM with distances of 350 m and 1000 m. There is a refreshment station on the course. Participants are asked to bring reusable cups or their own mugs to protect the environment. The award ceremony is scheduled around 1:00 PM with finisher trophies for all present participants and cash prizes for the top runners. The courses run through the Taunus on forest paths, with elevation gains of 150 meters for the 10 km and 350 meters for the half marathon. Start and finish are at the MTV sports facility in Kronberg. Registration is available online and on race day. Environmentally conscious behavior is encouraged during refreshments.
