Altkönig-Lauf

The Altkönig Run, organized by MTV Kronberg, is a traditional public race approved by the German Athletics Association (DLV), taking place on September 27, 2026. Events include a half marathon (21.1 km), 10 km races, children’s races, a toddlers’ race, and walking/Nordic walking. The course runs through the scenic Taunus landscape, with around 350 metres of elevation gain in the half marathon. The race is part of the Taunus Running Challenge and offers every finisher a medal, as well as trophies and cash prizes for the top runners. The start and finish are at the MTV sports grounds in Kronberg.

Every finisher receives a medal. The 10 km walking and Nordic walking events start at 9:40 a.m. and are not timed. Children’s races start from 12:00 p.m., with distances of 350 m and 1,000 m. There is a refreshment station on the course. Participants are asked to bring reusable cups or their own mugs to help protect the environment. The awards ceremony is planned for around 1:00 p.m., with finisher trophies for all participants who are present and cash prizes for the top runners. The courses run along forest paths through the Taunus. Elevation gain: 150 m for 10 km and 350 m for the half marathon. Start and finish at the MTV sports grounds in Kronberg. Registration is available online and on race day. Environmentally conscious behaviour is encouraged at the refreshment station.
