17. Klingenthal Salzkotten Marathon

The 17th Klingenthal Salzkotten Marathon offers a unique running weekend with an exhilarating atmosphere in the heart of Salzkotten. The routes pass through the town and the district of Verne, are officially measured, and offer a top-level sporting experience. In the shade of the Salzkotten saltworks, runners can enjoy a first-class refreshment area and a relaxed chill-out area. All event proceeds go directly to youth programs run by local clubs, supporting sport in the region.

Start times vary by distance: the marathon and half marathon start at 08:30, the 10 km race at 10:30, the 5 km race at 11:30, and the Bambini races from 15:30, with different start times for each age group. The courses are officially measured and comply with international competition rules. On event day, roads through the town and side streets will be closed from approximately 06:30 to 16:00. A supervised bicycle parking area is available at the Sälzerhalle car park in exchange for a voluntary donation. The NUNAV app is recommended for a stress-free journey and parking search. The marathon places particular emphasis on community and team spirit, with company teams able to take part in the team competition. The event also offers parking, pacemaker teams, and a family program.
