Sparkassen-Küstenmarathon 26

The Sparkassen Coastal Marathon in Otterndorf is a traditional race on the North Sea coast, taking place on September 20, 2026. The event offers various distances, from a Bambini run for kindergarten children to the classic marathon covering 42.195 km. The routes pass through the historic old town, along the Elbe dike and by the water, providing a varied and scenic running experience. In addition to the marathon, there are half-marathon, 10 km and 5 km races, as well as relay and walking events. The event emphasizes community, endurance and a family-friendly atmosphere.

The Bambini run is limited to 300 children from daycare centers in the Samtgemeinde Land Hadeln and is non-competitive. There are various age groups and classifications for schoolchildren. The event offers free parking, bag storage, and one hour of free use of the Otterndorf saltwater thermal baths (excluding the sauna) upon presentation of a race bib. There is a Cuxland classification with cash prizes for runners from the district of Cuxhaven. Award ceremonies are held in stages by distance and classification at the Historic Town Hall. The event takes place on the Elbe dike and in Otterndorf’s historic old town, with special categories such as handbikers and walkers. It is a family-friendly event with a strong sense of community.
