Race description

The OTB New Year's Eve Run in Osnabrück is a traditional year-end race that appeals to hobby runners, walkers, and ambitious athletes alike. On the last day of the year, participants can choose from various routes, including a main race over 10 km, walking routes, a short distance of 5.6 km, a barrier-free open race, and a children's run. The event offers a festive atmosphere and modern timing with disposable chip timing. The race takes place through scenic areas such as Lake Rubbenbruch and Natruper Holz and has been a fixture in the Osnabrück running calendar since 1980.

Additional information

Timing is done with a disposable chip on the bib (except for walking, which has no timing). The children's route will run through the 'big goal' starting in 2025. The barrier-free open race is new from 2025. Start times vary by route: Walker at 11:20 am, Children's run at 11:30 am, Open race at 11:50 am, 5.6 km short distance at 12:10 pm, 10 km main race at 12:20 pm. Spikes are not allowed on the 10 km and 5.6 km routes. Various routes including barrier-free race, children's run, and walking; spikes not permitted; online registration available; participant limit of 3,000 runners.
