Nibelungenlauf

The Nibelungenlauf in Worms is a long-established running event held annually on the second Sunday in September. The event offers a varied programme of races over different distances, set within a cultural programme on the banks of the Rhine near the Hagen Monument and Kriemhild’s Rose Garden. Since 2004, more than 44,000 participants from many nations have taken part, underscoring the event’s popularity and international character. The race welcomes beginners and professionals alike and creates a special running experience in the Nibelungen city.

The event begins on Saturday with various activities and concludes on Sunday with the races and awards ceremony at the Hagen Monument. There is a team classification, and participants under 18 must provide consent from a parent or guardian. Event shirts and hoodies can be ordered during registration. The event often sells out before the registration deadline. Online registration is available; the deadline is September 6, 2026. Team registration and event shirts are also available. The start and finish are at the Nibelungenlauf Arena on the Rhine.
