Internationaler Brüder-Grimm-Lauf

The International Brothers Grimm Run is a long-standing three-day event that covers approximately 82 km from Hanau, the birthplace of the Brothers Grimm, to Steinau, where the collectors of fairy tales spent their childhood. The route is divided into 5 stages and offers a challenge for recreational runners as well as competitive athletes. It follows historic trade routes, passing historic buildings, scenic attractions, and spa and recreation resorts in the Spessart and picturesque villages in the Kinzig Valley. The event takes place from 12 to 14 June 2026, and registration opens on 11 November 2025.

The route is mostly paved, with some sections through open countryside and forest. The elevation profile is flat, with only minimal inclines (maximum elevation approximately 130 m). The stages include cycle paths, forest trails, and paved paths, among other surfaces. Stage starts and finishes are in various towns along the route, such as Niederrodenbach and Neuenhaßlau. The event is open to recreational runners and competitive athletes alike.
