Heideköniginnenpokal

The Heideköniginnenpokal (HeiPo) in Amelinghausen is a traditional fun run, taking place for the 31st time in 2026 as part of the Heideblütenfest week. The challenging routes pass through scenic landscapes, including along Lopausee. The race attracts many participants and is a mainstay of regional running events.

The Amelinghausen running group meets regularly on Mondays and Wednesdays to run together. There is also a beginners’ course that gradually introduces participants to running. The event is part of a lively running-group community that takes part in many fun runs and marathons across Germany. The race takes place in August, with typical summer weather around 25°C and possible rain. There are also children’s races and other fun runs as part of the festival week.
