Harzgeröder Klippenlauf

The Harzgeröder Klippenlauf on 7 June 2026 is a varied popular and cross-country running event in the Lower Harz, suitable for runners of all abilities. Distances range from 1 km for children to a challenging half marathon of 21.1 km with 450 metres of elevation gain. The routes follow the Selke Valley along the Selketalstieg, passing through the districts of Mägdesprung and Alexisbad, with rocky sections, narrow trails and a rock tunnel. Alongside the sporting challenge, the Klippenlauf offers fun for the whole family, including a raffle and other events. The start and finish are at the dog training club grounds in Harzgerode.

Safety pins may not be used to attach race numbers; race belts are available for 5 EUR. Separate starts are offered for the Fun Run (1 km), Schoolchildren’s Run (2.5 km), Everyone’s Run (5 km), Main Run (15 km) and Half Marathon (21.1 km). A raffle with great prizes is held for participants. The event is one of the region’s major running and sporting events. Participants can pre-order a running shirt, registration is available online, and running with dogs is prohibited. The event is limited to 600 participants.
