The Backnang New Year’s Eve Run is a traditional race for everyone and the largest sporting event in Backnang. It offers various distances from 0.5 km to 10 km, including a Bambini Run, Mini Marathon, team relay, 5 km race and 10 km main race. The route runs through the city over cobblestones, creating a lively atmosphere with thousands of spectators. The run is a year-end highlight that appeals to recreational and elite athletes alike and is a celebration for the whole family.

Late entries are possible online on the event day until 12:00, subject to availability. Race numbers can be collected at the race office or at INTERSPORT GRABERT on 29 and 30 December. Late entries are not possible for the team relay. Age-group classifications follow the DLV event regulations. The event begins with the Bambini Run at 14:00, followed by the Mini Marathon, team relay and 5 km race, and ends with the 10 km main race at 15:10. Routes pass through the city centre, including cobblestones and short climbs, with various race categories and family activities.
