Altmühltrail

The Altmühltrail 2026 takes place on October 17 in Dollnstein in the Altmühltal Nature Park and offers a unique trail-running experience combining sport, nature and enjoyment. The route leads over challenging trails, past impressive rock formations, through dense forests and across scenic ridges. Refreshment stations serving regional specialties add to the experience. The children’s race, which includes a trail obstacle course, also gives young runners the chance to gain their first experience.

Start times: long-distance hikers and Nordic walkers without timing at 09:30; timed long-distance runners at 11:30; timed short-distance runners at 12:00; short-distance hikers and Nordic walkers without timing at 12:15. Race-pack collection is available the previous day from 17:30 to 18:30 and on race day from 8:30 to 12:00 (children’s race packs available only until 10:00). Registration opens on February 16, 2026, at 16:02. Capacity fills quickly; a waiting list is available. Registration for the children’s race is still open separately. Participation is possible in trail running, Nordic walking or hiking. Refreshments, showers, an awards ceremony and age restrictions.
