5. Urwaldsteig-Ultratrail

The Urwaldsteig Ultratrail is a challenging ultratrail run of approximately 66 km with about 2,000 metres of elevation gain around Lake Edersee. Starting in Waldeck, the route runs counterclockwise through varied natural landscapes, including dense forests, narrow trails, the Kahle Haardt nature reserve and Kellerwald-Edersee National Park. Runners can expect impressive views of the lake, historic sites such as Hünselburg and varied trail sections offering a rich nature experience. The start and finish are at the Schloss Waldeck car park. The race starts at 8 a.m.

Refreshment point at approximately km 32.2, after the bridge near Herzhausen. Day parking fee at the Schloss Waldeck start location: at least €5; please have the exact amount or pay digitally. The run follows the original Urwaldsteig route as marked; the GPX track is for general guidance only. Approximately 66 km, approximately 2,000 metres of elevation gain, trail terrain, refreshments at km 32.2, no showers or toilets, GPS recommended, participant limit of 30, start at 8 a.m. at the Schloss Waldeck car park.
