55. Brockenlauf

The Brockenlauf is Germany’s oldest mountain race and has been held annually in Ilsenburg in the Harz Mountains since 1927. The main 26.2 km course climbs 890 metres to the Brocken, the highest mountain in northern Germany, and offers a demanding challenge with changeable high-mountain weather at the summit. The course passes through picturesque countryside and historic places, with impressive views along the way. In addition to the main race, there are shorter routes that also offer an experience of nature. The event is open to all runners, whether or not they belong to a club.

Split times are recorded at several points along the 26.2 km course using SPORTident Timing. The course is demanding, with steep sections of up to a 12.5% gradient and concrete slabs at the summit. The event is open to runners and walkers. The organizer reserves the right to change the course if conditions on the Brocken are unreasonable. Registration is already open. Various distances are available, including ultra and running events, as well as a book flea market and exclusive running shirts.
