X-MAS Trail

The X-MAS Trail in Weiskirchen is a challenging winter trail run through the picturesque landscape of the Hunsrück-Hochwald Nature Park. Three demanding courses with single trails and technical sections lead through moss-covered forests, over small bridges, and past rock formations. The event requires good equipment and experience in handling winter conditions, as runners are autonomous. The route is marked with flagging tape and spray chalk, and a route briefing is provided before the run. This is not a road race but a genuine trail run with strict cutoff times.

Mandatory equipment is necessary, especially for the long distances. The route will be finalized shortly before the race and provided for download. The long courses are part of the ITRA National League Challenge. Cutoff times are strictly enforced; sweepers may remove very slow participants from the race. The event is not suitable for hikers. There are refreshment points on the long courses. A headlamp is recommended; for the long course, it is mandatory. Winter trail conditions, technical sections, no hikers allowed, mandatory equipment required, route changes possible, no dogs allowed.
