Race description
The Volksbank-Münster-Marathon is a major running event organized by runners for runners, mostly on a voluntary basis and with great passion. With around 12,000 participants, over 300 artists and bands along the route, and more than 100,000 spectators, the autumn marathon offers a unique atmosphere. The course is almost flat and runs through the bike- and run-friendly city of Münster. At the finish area on the Prinzipalmarkt, a red carpet is rolled out, making the finish line a special experience.

The marathon is part of a large event with several competitions such as Atruvia Relay Marathon, Wecker-28 (28 km), Stadtwerke Kids Marathon, Westfalen AG Charity Run (10 km), and H+B technics Health Run (6 km). There is a combined ranking with the Enschede Marathon. The marathon office is staffed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. A marathon guide with general information and FAQs is available. The marathon attracts about 12,000 runners, offers qualification opportunities for other races, and is supported by numerous sponsors. There are also accompanying events such as lectures and health seminars.
