Tag des Laufens

Day of Running is a nationwide running initiative in Germany, taking place for the fifth time on June 3, 2026. Under the motto #gemeinsammehrbewegen, everyone who loves running is invited to run together and raise donations to support healthy physical activity for children and young people. The event is initiated by German Road Races e.V. and the German Athletics Association, with support from DATEV. There are no fixed routes or start times: everyone can take part individually or in groups at a location of their choice, or organize their own event. Donations go to Plan International Germany to support sports clubs and the training of coaches.

Free race bibs can be downloaded online as PDFs and printed. Participants can post photos or videos on Instagram with the hashtag #tagdeslaufens and enter prize draws. A competition offers €1,000 in prize money to teams involved in social initiatives. Donations of €15 or more enable participation in a VIP trip to the 2026 German Athletics Championships.
