Race description
The Altra Sunset Wattenmeer is an exceptional relay race covering approximately 250 kilometers, running from Hamburg-St. Pauli to St. Peter-Ording. The route passes through the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wattenmeer National Park and offers breathtaking natural scenery, idyllic villages, and marshlands with a sea breeze. The event lasts over 24 hours and challenges teams of 5 or 10 runners to complete the course together. Start times are assigned based on the reported average pace, and digital course maps are provided before the race.

Participants must be born in 2010 or earlier (Ultra teams from 2008). Team sizes: 10-person teams (each runner covers 3 sections) or Ultra 5-person teams (each runner covers 6 sections). 5-pack teams are combined with a similar 5-pack team. Team categories are assigned automatically upon registration (men, women, diverse, mixed). For 10-person teams, 2 vans are required as team vehicles; for 5-person teams, 1 van. Start times are allocated based on the reported average pace. The event lasts over 24 hours. Digital course maps are provided before the event. The relay race includes various categories, participation is open from 2008 onwards, with detailed information on registration, costs, and procedures, including navigation with course maps.
