Race description
The Sparkassen Fortress Run in Königstein is a summer evening running adventure on one of Europe's most architecturally and historically valuable mountain fortresses. The main course over 9.4 kilometers is a challenging uphill run with 470 meters of elevation, with the last kilometers running on the fortress plateau offering a magnificent view of the Saxon Switzerland and the Elbe River. In addition to the main race, there is a 7.7 km course as well as a mini run and an inclusion run, each 1.2 km long, on the fortress plateau. The event has been established for over 20 years and offers a special atmosphere with an award ceremony at sunset on the fortress marketplace.

Race bib distribution for the main race (9.4 km and 7.7 km) at the start area Tourist Information Königstein between 4 PM and 6 PM. Race bib distribution for mini run and inclusion run (each 1.2 km) at the registration stand on the fortress plateau. The inclusion run is not wheelchair accessible. The award ceremony takes place on the fortress marketplace at sunset.
