Spargellauf

The WERNER Spargellauf in Deinste is a 5.5 km relay race held annually, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026. Teams of five runners make their way together through the asparagus fields, using an asparagus spear as the relay baton. The race is suitable for all fitness levels, from beginners to professionals, and fun comes first, as the winning team is selected by lottery. Alongside the race, there is a culinary mile featuring regional specialties and a family programme with a bouncy castle and other attractions. A special race shirt will be available for the anniversary, and a big after-show party will take place.

The 2026 anniversary celebration includes an after-show party, an anniversary magazine, a prize wheel, and special anniversary dishes and drinks. The winning team is drawn by lottery and receives regional products (asparagus, potatoes, ham and strawberries). Anniversary race shirts featuring a custom team name or logo can be ordered until 16 May. The culinary mile offers a variety of food and drinks. The family programme includes a bouncy castle. The anniversary event also features music and refreshments along the route.
