Race description
The New Year's Eve Run in Schwalmstadt-Ziegenhain is a traditional race that has taken place every year on December 31st since 1970. The event offers a short race of 2.7 km for children and adolescents as well as a long race of 8.1 km for adults. The race concludes the Schwalm-Eder-Cup series and is known for its musical entertainment with samba sounds from Sola Quente, who accompany the runners along the course. The event is organized by a dedicated team from TuSpo Ziegenhain and is a popular year-end event for many athletes.

Additional information
Parking is available in the forest between Klinikum and the start area, access until 12:45 PM to the parking lot at the start is possible. After 12:45 PM, free parking is available at the Asklepios Clinic parking lot. The award ceremony takes place on-site in the Schützenwald after the races. The race takes place in the Schützenwald, registration is possible online, start and finish area at the pond near the Ziegelhütte, parking options nearby, no shower facilities, refreshments with drinks and food, entertainment program with music and community activities.
