Sengbachtalsperrenlauf

The Sengbach Reservoir Run is a traditional scenic race around the Sengbach Reservoir near Leichlingen-Witzhelden. The three main distances follow well-maintained forest trails and a paved section along the dam wall, on a loop of about 9.8 km with approximately 200 metres of elevation gain per lap. The course is traffic-free and runs through a protected landscape area. Families can take part in a separate race with shorter distances in the immediate vicinity of the event grounds. The event provides on-course refreshments and showers in nearby Kuhle.

Race packets will be available from 7:30 a.m. on race day at the registration tent. Showers are available at a school in the neighbouring village of Kuhle and are signposted. Refreshments including bananas, water, isotonic drinks and cola are provided about every 5 km; free tea and bananas are available at the finish. Certificates can be accessed online. The course is traffic-free, with two refreshment stations on the loop. A fundraising campaign for the Leverkusen Children's Hospice will be held. The course follows forest trails, with no roads. Donations to the children's hospice are welcome. Registration is open until race day; a late-entry fee of €5 applies from 11.08.2026.
