Sachsenlauf Coswig

The Sachsenlauf Coswig is a long-standing sporting event held annually in June since 1980. The races follow forest roads, woodland trails and field paths through the Friedewald and into the Moritzburg Hills. A special highlight on the 21.1 km route is running through the Moritzburg State Stud to the castle pond and Pferde-Hügel. In addition to running distances, walking and hiking options cater to different fitness levels and ambitions. The event is part of the Meißner Sparkassencup and the Niederlausitzcup, and also features dedicated races for children and Bambinis, with surprises at the finish.

Start and finish are at the corner of Friedewaldstraße and Sachsenlaufweg. Awards ceremonies take place in the schoolyard. Changing rooms and restroom facilities are available in the neighboring Spitzgrund sports hall. The course closes for all distances at 14:00. Paid parking is available in the Moritzburger Straße car park. Travel by public transport (VVO bus routes 400, 401 and 405) is recommended. Children and Bambinis have their own out-and-back races (500 m and 800 m) with small surprises at the finish. Race bibs include a single-use timing transponder. Late registrations are possible on race day until 10:00; payment on site is cash only.
