Sachsenlauf Coswig

The Saxony Run Coswig is a traditional sporting event that has been held annually in June since 1980. The races lead on forest, woodland, and field paths through the Friedewald to the Moritzburger Hügelland, with a special highlight: passing through the Moritzburger Stud Farm to the castle pond and horse hill on the 21.1 km course. In addition to running routes, there are also walking and hiking options suitable for different fitness levels and ambitions. The event is part of the Meißner Sparkassencup and the Niederlausitzcup and also offers separate races with surprises at the finish for children and bambinis.

Start and finish are located on Friedewaldstraße at the corner of Sachsenlaufweg. The award ceremonies take place in the schoolyard. Changing rooms and sanitary facilities are available in the nearby Spitzgrund sports hall. The cut-off time for all routes is 14:00. Parking is available for a fee in the Moritzburger Straße parking garage. Public transportation (VVO bus lines 400, 401, 405) is recommended for arrival. There are dedicated races for children and bambinis (500 m and 800 m) with small surprises at the finish. The bib numbers include a disposable transponder for timing. Late registrations are possible on race day until 10:00, payment only in cash. Route adjustments due to state championships, parking in the parking garage, travel by bus and train are recommended. Catering and award ceremonies are held in the finish area, with children’s and hiking routes also available.
