Rund um Ennepetal

Rund um Ennepetal is an annual mass-participation sporting event held on the last Sunday in August. It combines running, hiking and walking along the 60 km Ennepetal Circular Hiking Trail, divided into five stages. The route passes through varied countryside, with magnificent views of the Bergisches Land, reservoirs and historic places. The event is suitable for all ability levels and offers guided groups for runners and walkers, as well as independent hiking. The stages are scenic and feature cultural highlights and challenging sections. After the event, participants can access their results and certificates online.

Late registration is available on the event day for a fee, up to 30 minutes before the start. The start and finish are at the sports grounds of Rot-Weiß Rüggeberg e.V. Bus transfers to the start points of stages 2 to 5 and back are arranged. The course closes at 20:30. Runners and walkers are accompanied in groups by guides familiar with the area; hikers receive GPX data for independent tours. Results and certificates are available online. The event comprises several stages on a challenging route, including bus transfers between start points and refreshments at the changeover points. Participation is open to everyone, with various disciplines and a friendly, family atmosphere.
