Pönitzer Silvesterlauf

The Pönitz New Year's Eve Run is a traditional New Year's Eve road race in Pönitz, a district of Scharbeutz in Schleswig-Holstein. On December 31, 2026, runners start at 9:00 AM for either 7.5 km or 15 km on a flat course ending at Lindenstraße 34. The event is organized by SVG Pönitz and features electronic timing. After the race, participants receive a hot drink, a Berliner (jelly-filled pastry), a commemorative medal, and optionally a personal certificate.

Registration is straightforward on race day. The event has a long tradition with over 40 editions and attracts numerous runners and walkers even in adverse weather conditions.
