Panoramalauf rund um die Burg Are

The Panoramalauf around Are Castle is a scenic popular race in the middle Ahr Valley, organised by Selbstläufer Altenahr e.V. and approved by the German Athletics Association (DLV). With distances of 19 km, 35 km and 57 km, it offers a varied challenge featuring panoramic paths, single-track trails and some demanding climbs. The start and finish are at Martinshütte above Altenahr, where refreshments are also available. The event takes place annually on the last Saturday in August and welcomes runners from near and far to enjoy the nature and scenery of the Ahr Valley.

Course refreshments include water, tea, cola, fruit, biscuits, chocolate, energy bars, sandwiches and potatoes (3 stations for K19, 5 for K35, 7 for K57). Drinking cups are provided; bringing your own cup is recommended to reduce waste. There is no official course supervision at road crossings, so please cross carefully. Time limit for K35 and K57: 10.5 hours. A scenic race with uphill and downhill sections, using hiking trails and single-track trails, with refreshments at several stations. The event encourages environmentally conscious use of drinking cups; there is no official course supervision on roads open to traffic.
