Race description
The Neudorf Fichtelberg Run is a challenging mountain race over 9.4 kilometers with 550 meters of elevation gain, held annually since 1987 in Sehmatal in the Ore Mountains. It is considered the toughest mountain run in Saxony and attracts both professional and amateur athletes. The race starts at the Spindelfabrik Neudorf and leads up to the plateau of the Fichtelberg. The event includes an open state championship in mountain running and offers a free shuttle service for the return trip.

Additional information
Race number pickup from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the festival tent of the Spindelfabrik. Late registrations only on the event day until 10:30 a.m. against a late registration fee. Free shuttle bus for the return trip from Fichtelberg to the start. Luggage transport (max. 1 bag/backpack per runner). Changing and shower facilities on site. Medical service provided by Bergwacht Oberwiesenthal. Lunch service by the Red Cross (pending). No approval for sports equipment or Nordic walking category. Registration opens spring 2026, shuttle service, luggage transport, award ceremony in the festival tent, parking available at the start and train station.
