München Marathon

The Munich Marathon offers a varied running experience in the Bavarian capital, with a marathon, half marathon, 10 km run and marathon relay. The marathon course passes through the Olympic Park, Leopoldstraße, the English Garden and Munich city centre, and finishes in the Olympic Park. The half-marathon course starts in the English Garden and also finishes in the Olympic Park. The marathon relay lets teams cover the 42.195 km together, with handovers at designated kilometre points. Due to renovation work, the finish is at Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz next to the Olympic Hall.

The start and finish are at Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz next to the Olympic Hall due to renovation work at the Olympic Stadium. Marathon relay teams can run the final metres together and receive their finisher medals as a team. The 10 km course is an out-and-back route from the Olympic Park through Schwabing and back. The half marathon is arranged so that even runners finishing in up to 3 hours can complete the distance comfortably. Registration is open until 27 September 2026. The event also includes activities for children and inclusive running events. The course passes through central Munich neighbourhoods and offers a festive atmosphere for runners and spectators.
