Race description
The Mottenburger Meile is a traditional cult race on the Elbe in Hamburg, held every year on the Friday after the Hamburg school holidays. The accurately measured out-and-back course is 7.5 km long, equivalent to one Prussian land mile. The race starts and finishes on the banks of the Elbe below Halbmondsweg/Elbchaussee and offers a romantic atmosphere with evening lighting. Alongside the sporting competition, the race supports the Hamburg Donations Parliament and commemorates Jewish victims of the Holocaust with a Stolperstein memorial stone.
