Race description
The Central German Marathon is a special running experience in the heart of Germany, connecting the Central German metropolitan region on a fast course between Leipzig and Halle (Saale). The classic marathon route, where the first German marathon was held in 1925, runs from the Bach city of Leipzig to the cultural capital Halle. In addition to the marathon, there are other disciplines such as the Handellauf half marathon, the half marathon relay, 10 km run, 10 km walk, and the Salzwirkerlauf. The event offers a diverse program and is suitable for runners of all performance levels.

Additional information
For the marathon, there are pacemakers for target times of 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, and 4:15 hours. The bib number includes a ticket from the Central German Transport Association for a free one-way or return trip on the event day between Halle and Leipzig within the respective fare zones. Split times must be adhered to; otherwise, disqualification will occur. Race documents can be collected at various registration offices. Late registrations and re-registrations are possible. The event includes various race types, starts in Halle and Leipzig, and offers a varied route through the Central German region with villages, forests, and floodplains.
