Marburger Nachtmarathon

The Marburg Night Marathon will take place for the 27th time on 3 July 2026 and is the largest running event in the Central Hesse region. The event offers a classic marathon, a half marathon, and a relay marathon with up to four participants. The course passes through Marburg’s picturesque old town and along the Lahn, following a flat, record-eligible loop with views of Landgrave Castle and St. Elizabeth’s Church. The race starts in a special atmosphere at 7 p.m. in the historic market square, and the finish is at the University Stadium. All participants receive a high-quality medal featuring a notable Marburg landmark each year.

The relay marathon consists of four runners, each completing a leg of around ten kilometres. The first relay runner starts in the market square, and the exchange zone is on Frankfurter Straße. Each team receives one race number attached to an elastic race-number belt. Safety pins are provided at registration. The number of participants is limited to ensure safety and an enjoyable running experience. The start and finish are at the University Stadium, about 1 km from the starting point.
