Race description
The Marburg Night Marathon takes place on July 3, 2026, for the 27th time and is the largest running event in the Middle Hessen region. The event offers a classic marathon, a half marathon, and a relay marathon with up to four participants. The course runs through the picturesque old town of Marburg, along the Lahn River, and features a flat, record-eligible loop with views of the Landgrave Castle and the Elisabeth Church. The start is atmospherically at 7 PM on the historic marketplace, and the finish is at the university stadium. All participants receive a high-quality medal depicting a notable Marburg building each year.

Additional information
The relay marathon consists of four runners, each covering approximately ten kilometers. The first relay runner starts at the marketplace, with the exchange zone located on Frankfurt Street. Each relay team receives a bib number on an elastic bib band. Safety pins are provided at registration. The number of participants is limited to ensure safety and a carefree running experience. Start and finish are at the university stadium, about 1 km from the starting point. The course runs within the city of Marburg, starting at Georg-Gaßman Stadium, with relay exchanges in Frankfurt Street. Registration begins on March 1, 2026.
