Race description
The Holzgerlinger Lauf - Waldtrail takes place for the 41st time in 2026 and is part of the Schönbuch Cup as the third scoring race. The course covers two laps over a tartan track, asphalt, and forest trails through the beautiful Holzgerlingen forest. The first half is mostly flat, while the second half is undulating, with a final climb accompanied by the sound of drums. Runners pass through the packed stadium three times, where spectators cheer them on with music—at the start, after the first 5 km lap, and at the finish.

Additional information
The event offers 5 km and 10 km courses with elevation profiles. On 06.06.2026, there will be a taster run with no registration required. The course is well surfaced and runs mostly through the forest. In 2024, the event was listed among the Württemberg Athletics Association (WLV)’s top 100 running events. The event also includes a taster run for beginners, team and pair competitions, and an after-race party.
