HochRhön-BergTrail

The HochRhön Mountain Trail is a challenging trail-running event in the picturesque uplands of the Hochrhön around Hilders. The event offers four trail distances from 7 km to 42 km, with varied routes through forests, singletrack, forest roads and meadows. The races feature some steep climbs and wonderful views, particularly from Auerbergsee and Buchschirm. Alongside the sporting challenge, supporting a good cause is also a focus: part of the entry fees is donated to the Malteser Children’s Hospice and Family Support Service in Fulda. The event is part of the regional Trailrunning Cup Rhön and also offers children’s races.

Start and finish are at the TSV Hilders sports grounds. Start times: 29K and 42K at 9:30 a.m., 7K and 15K at 10:45 a.m., KidsRun at approximately 9:40 a.m. Race bibs can be collected on race day at the Hilders fire station or beforehand at BECK Orthopädie. Race briefings are mandatory. The 15K course is an ITRA National League race and a UTMB Index Race. There will be an expo at the sports grounds. The event supports a fundraising campaign for the Malteser Children’s Hospice and Family Support Service in Fulda. Medical services are provided by the DRK Mountain Rescue Service and volunteer fire brigades.
