Greifenstein Berglauf

The Greifenstein Mountain Run is a challenging 5.3 km road race from Ehringshausen-Katzenfurt to Greifenstein Castle, taking place for the 27th time on 30 May 2026. The route follows country roads and farm tracks, climbing a total of 260 metres to the finish at the castle, which offers a wonderful view of the region. The race is open to youth, men, women and seniors, with a combined ranking across all categories. Nordic walking is offered without age-category rankings, and a free children’s race for the youngest participants takes place separately in the afternoon. The event concludes with an awards ceremony and refreshments in the courtyard of Greifenstein Castle.

The entry fee includes a bus transfer to the start, transport of clothing to the finish, and drinks at the start and finish. Race numbers and finisher shirts will be distributed in the courtyard of Greifenstein Castle from 14:00 on event day. Late registration is possible on event day until 30 minutes before the start. Parking is available at the outskirts of Greifenstein in the direction of Beilstein. A free children’s race will be held at around 16:50, accompanied by members of LG Dill. The awards ceremony and refreshments—including coffee, cake, cold drinks and bratwurst—will take place in the castle courtyard. In clear weather, the courtyard offers impressive views across the Dill Valley as far as the Feldberg in the Taunus. Register online by 28.05.2026; start in Katzenfurt, finish at Greifenstein Castle; no relay or walking event; results available since 2008.
