Glücksburger Nikolaus-Crosslauf

The Glücksburg St Nicholas Cross-Country Run is a cross-country event held in December in Glücksburg on the Baltic Sea, organised by TSV Glücksburg 09. The races start and finish at Schwennau Arena, Flensburger Straße 2. Adults and older teenagers can choose between a medium 4.1 km cross-country run and a long 8.2 km run, while younger children take part in shorter, fun runs. The event has a St Nicholas theme, with a piggyback run for parents carrying babies and various races for toddlers and young people. Every participant receives a chocolate Santa Claus as a gift.

The youngest participants’ races are not timed, to preserve their fun, playful character. The event takes place in typical December weather, with temperatures around 3 °C and frequent snowfall. It also includes volunteer duties at the start, finish and along the course, as well as refreshments including coffee, tea and cake. Registration is online, and the event takes place at Schwennau Arena in Glücksburg.
