Freimarktslauf

The Freimarktslauf in Garrel is the region’s largest fun run and offers a varied running experience for young and old, beginners and professionals, on its flat circuits. The event includes distances from a 400 m Bambini run to 10 km main races, held on a flat 2.5 km circuit through Garrel. Alongside the sporting competition, community and fun take centre stage, supported by RunClub Garrel, which specifically encourages beginners. With more than 1,300 participants, the race is a popular event filled with unforgettable moments.

The race offers combined scoring for the 5 km and 10 km races. There are special races for children and young people, including a Bambini run, a taster run and a schoolchildren’s run. RunClub Garrel supports beginners and returning runners with group training sessions. The event is a large community gathering with more than 1,300 participants, and numerous photos and results are available online. The race includes various distances and is open to runners of all age groups. Registration is online, and the event is part of the region’s festivities.
