The Hofer Backyard Ultra is a unique ultrarunning event taking place on June 27, 2026, in Hof, Bavaria. The race starts at 09:00 and is, by definition, “open end”: it finishes only when one runner remains or everyone has dropped out. The course is a 6.706-kilometer loop with around 80 meters of elevation gain, running along forest and woodland trails as well as asphalt. The event attracts participants from across Germany and beyond, and offers a special challenge for runners who want to discover and push their limits.

Maximum of 100 places. Check-in on June 26, 2026, from 07:30 at Hof Airport. 200 free parking spaces approximately 100 m from the start/finish area. A personal headlamp is required at night (from lap 13). Timekeeping may continue beyond 24 hours because the race is open end. The course includes paved paths, gravel and woodland trails, and the runway at Hof Airport; online registration; accommodation recommendations available; maximum of 100 participants; running continues until the final runner finishes.
