6. Fränkischer Backyard Ultra

The Fränkischer Backyard Ultra is a unique ultra-running event in the “Backyard Ultra” format, with a 6.7 km loop and approximately 90 metres of elevation gain. A new loop starts every hour, and the last runner to complete a loop within the 60-minute time limit wins. The race takes place in Heuchling and has no fixed finish time, continuing until only one runner remains. The event offers a family-friendly atmosphere, extensive refreshments, and a special focus on endurance and community.

Each loop completed up to and including the 15th loop requires a €1 donation to the homeless assistance organisation, payable upon withdrawal. Refreshments for runners are included in the entry fee, and bringing reusable cups is recommended. The FamilyTrail is a separate event for families, with a 2.3 km course starting every 30 minutes. Teams consist of 2 to 5 people, and children must be at least 5 years old. The FamilyTrail starts on Saturday at 10:00, with a briefing at 09:45. Personal tents and gazebos may be set up from 10:00.
