26. Dresden-Marathon / DRESDEN-MARATHON

The DRESDEN-MARATHON has been held regularly in late October since 1999. It offers a flat, fast course through the Saxon state capital, passing its famous sights. The route goes through the historic Old Town, including Brühl’s Terrace, the Semper Opera House and other Baroque buildings, as well as the lively Neustadt district. More than 300 musicians and numerous bands create a special atmosphere along the course. The second half of the marathon runs through the Blasewitz district, with views of the palaces on the Loschwitz Elbe slope and the villas along Goetheallee, before returning to the Old Town along the Elbe.

More than 300 musicians and numerous bands create an atmosphere along the course. There is a marathon expo, race-pack collection and a SPARKASSEN pacemaker service. After the race, medal engraving, a photo service, showers, changing rooms and toilets, as well as award ceremonies, are available. The evening before the race, an anniversary party takes place in the marquee behind Heinz Steyer Stadium (€25 admission; limited capacity).
