24. Röntgenlauf

The Röntgenlauf in Remscheid is a traditional cross-country race with various distances, including 5 km, 10 km, half marathon, marathon and ultramarathon. The half marathon is especially popular, attracting up to 1,500 participants, and is considered one of Germany’s largest cross-country races. The routes pass through varied natural scenery, with forest trails and paved sections; the half marathon covers about one third of the Röntgenweg. A shuttle service takes half marathon participants from the finish back to the start. The event also places emphasis on environmental protection by recommending reusable drinking cups.

The half marathon has a minimum age of 16; the marathon and ultramarathon have a minimum age of 18. Minors need written consent from a parent or guardian. There is a clothing transport service from the start to the finish and a bus transfer from the finish back to the start. Participants are asked to bring their own reusable drinking cups to help protect the environment. The entry fee includes a race bib, finisher’s medal and refreshments. Distances range from 5 km to the ultramarathon (63.3 km), including children’s races and cross-country races; registration is open until 25 October 2026.
