1. Westerwälder Backyard Ultra

The Westerwälder Backyard Ultra 2026 is a unique ultramarathon taking place in Höchstenbach in the Westerwald (Rhineland-Palatinate). Participants run on a marked loop course of 6.706 km with 71 meters of elevation gain per lap, passing through forest, woodland, and meadow paths. The event is characterized by a family-friendly atmosphere with electronic lap counting, catering at the start/finish area, and a medal for everyone who completes at least one lap. Additionally, part of the entry fee is donated to local youth work and a tree planting project.

Number bib distribution begins on June 5, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Mandatory briefing 15 minutes before the start. Catering with runner-friendly drinks and snacks at the start/finish area. Tenting/pavilion setup is limited. Shower tags available on site. No refund of entry fee in case of non-participation; substitute runners allowed. Waiting list available when full. Part of the entry fee is donated to youth work and a tree planting project. Medal for all who complete at least one lap. Award ceremony shortly after the event ends. Participants can camp or set up pavilions in the start/finish area. The registration fee includes a donation to a charitable cause, plus €1.50 per lap (up to a maximum of 10 laps). The event is limited to 200 participants and begins on June 5, 2026, at 7:00 PM.
